биорассасываемых материалов для артроскопических процедур. Международная

Description: Fixation of soft tissue
to bone during arthroscopic procedures requires materials of significant
mechanical strength. The market now expects these to be bioresorbable
and, more recently, osteoconductive properties have become a desired
attribute. Strength is a key property owing to the nature of the devices
that will be made and procedures that the material will be used in. Technical Specifications / Specific technical requirements: The ideal material would have the following properties: • Be resorbable. • Have initial mechanical properties of: - Tensile strength >50Mpa. - Tensile modulus >2Gpa. • Have a degradation profile of: - Strength retention of >70% at 12 weeks. - Total mass loss in <1.5 years. • Be completely replaced by bone (osteoconductive) when degraded. • Be biocompatible - the material and resulting breakdown products. • Be formable by conventional injection moulding processes.
The material should ideally be on the market
and ready for use, or be available for demonstration. Proposals should
provide evidence that the material or the material’s components have a
history of clinical use in approved devices.

технических решений. Description: Technology is required to enable “in-process” or real-time non-destructive detection of defects during the welding process. This could be achieved by a system that can monitor any combination of accessible parameters during the weld process, and then, by analysing changes, ascertain the presence of a weld defect, its location, and if possible its nature.
Potential solutions should be suitable for
industrial production lines and could be added on to new welding
equipment including welding robots and industrial welding stations, or a
retrofit kit for existing welding machinery. It should be versatile,
with the ability to be used for different welding configurations with a
minimum of changes. Technical Specifications / Specific technical requirements: The system must be real-time and non-destructive, and severely limit the occurrence of false positives. One approach would be to monitor more independent or different parameters than have been attempted previously, so as to detect defects as they appear. Such parameters could be, but are not limited to - The current and voltage of the welding arc. - Spectral changes of the arc during welding. - Surface ripples in the welding puddle and their patterns.

The group includes a Venture Capital business with a remit to develop and grow a portfolio of investments in small and medium-sized businesses that offer renewable, sustainable and energy-enhancing low-carbon products and services. The Venture Team is looking to make direct investments in emerging businesses which offer renewable, sustainable and energy-enhancing technology (“cleantech”), products and services, and to invest in, or to co-invest with, investment funds or private investors working in the renewable/sustainable sector. Partners are required in industry, research or technology development including micro-generation systems, power systems, wave/tidal systems, university R&D and low-carbon homes. The technologies can be at any stage of development but those in the post research and development phase, having demonstrable viability and market-readiness, will be of particular interest.
Technologies based on nuclear or fossil
fuels, unless based on or using very unusual or innovative technology or
processes, are unlikely to be appropriate.
Technical Specifications / Specific
technical requirements: The Utility is looking for technologies that
are more energy-efficient than those currently used. Technologies will
also need to be (or have the prospect of being) “clean”, i.e. with no or
minimal pollution or potentially harmful emissions or residues. For
renewable or “alternative” technologies, the technology should be (or
have the prospect of being) sustainable, and ideally with minimal
environmental impact.

подачи их для удаления панциря. Description: Scampi - the meaty tails of prawns and shrimps - is an increasingly popular type of seafood. For some recipes the tails are required with their shell on, but for most recipes - as a constituent in seafood dishes or as “breaded” or “coated” scampi - the meat is required out of the shell. Removing the shell or “peeling the tails” is difficult, and is generally a manual, labour-intensive process. It is a job that people do not enjoy doing.
A Scottish SME has devised a machine that
has partly automated the peeling process. However, presenting the tails
to the peeler in the correct way and at the correct rate is a problem,
and is labour-intensive. The Scottish business is looking for
engineering, food processing or mechanical design and development
businesses to help it resolve this problem. It is probable that any
business that might be considered for this work will already be involved
in seafood or food processing. "Pick and Place" robots or automated
systems may be suitable, but scampi is a very difficult material to
handle.
Technical Specifications / Specific
technical requirements: The peeling machine is fed by a conveyor
belt. Currently, tails are placed on the belt manually. To work properly
the peeler must receive the tails in the correct orientation (i.e. the
right way up and facing the right way); correctly indexed (in rows at
specified spacings) and at the correct rate (i.e. number of rows per
second). The number of operators required to do this means that there is
little or no overall saving in manpower relative to a completely manual
peeling process. The company is therefore looking for a machine that
will place the tails correctly and consistently, with the minimum of
operator intervention. The definition of a successful placing machine
will be that at least 90% of the tails are presented in the correct
orientation, and that the peeling machine will be consistently loaded to
at least 80% of its capacity.

Once discovered and validated, these ‘biomarkers’ can be used (with the aid of ‘smart’ molecules and imaging devices, etc.) to determine if, where and how much of a disease exists in the body - all of which could happen before the onset of traditional symptoms. In addition to diagnosing disease, these molecular diagnostics can be used to track the effectiveness of therapies. Additionally, genetic information can be used to design treatments tailored to an individual's molecular make-up. A UK-based provider of diagnostic services for human health is looking to expand its growing product range of state-of-the-art molecular and virology-based diagnostic tests, biomarkers and associated IP (e.g. platform technologies). The company’s existing product ranges have good brand recognition and customer loyalty. The company has state-of-the-art laboratory, testing and development facilities, and access to international markets through its existing distribution channels. They now plan to grow and diversify this product range by licensing in new products, making appropriate distribution agreements, strategic alliances or partnerships. They have a particular interest in molecular & virology-based diagnostic tests/biomarkers already on the market/or ready for market that target areas of unmet clinical need. The following are suggestions but interest is by no means restricted to just these: • Autoimmune disease. • Breast cancer. • Cardiovascular diseases. • Colorectal cancer. • Gastrointestinal diseases. • Genetic testing. • Infectious diseases. • Neurodegeneration. • Oncology. • Osteoarthritis.

Technical Specifications / Specific technical requirements: The UK company is seeking to expand its portfolio of tests and services that are available from the identification of a disease, predisposition to a disease, through to therapeutic monitoring. The area of interest is broad and embraces any diagnostic test/biomarker or product IP associated with human health and in any therapeutic area. Diagnostics may be for predisposition, detection, management of therapy, predictive outcome of disease progression and diagnostic of response to therapy. The specific requirements of the molecular and virology-based diagnostic tests/biomarkers & associated product IP include: • Applicable for one of the substantial human health markets of unmet clinical need. • Technology must be market-ready (with proven clinical data etc) or already on the market elsewhere in Europe (or beyond). • The associated Intellectual Property must demonstrate an obvious improvement over existing gold standard where there is one!
Technologies/products that do not meet these
three specific requirements will not be considered.

сотрудничества. Description: A London-based company’s product uses technologies to improve conventional healthcare delivery methods by making information more readily available at the point of care. This allows every caregiver to get value out of the expensive CT (Computer Tomography) and MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) scanners. The company facilitates communication between radiologists and the referring doctors, improving workflow and the exchange of information. The company aims at improving its existing virtual reality colonoscopy software by designing a training system suitable for diagnostic to be used in radiological and endoscopy departments as opposed to traditional colonoscopy.
The medical expert will have the knowledge
to define specific training procedures that can be implemented in a
virtual reality environment within the company medical software product.
The training system should be evaluated and assessed by the medical
expert with the final purpose of making it routinely available in
radiological departments and endoscopy units. Technical Specifications / Specific technical requirements: The company has already established relationships with hospitals, and they could use their network to market the VR Colonoscopy software training module to existing and new customers. The main advantages of the product are: • Automatic and interactive fly-through internal cavities (colon, bronchi, trachea etc.); zooms in and analyses abnormalities. • Uses a normal PC computer, no specialised hardware required. • Use of this tool as a screening technique to detect and diagnose colorectal abnormalities. • Enables doctors to perform less intrusive and more accurate screening procedures very efficiently.

Восстановление твердых поверхностей в

Аннотация: Крупная сеть по поставке
потребительских товаров, имеющая офисы в Великобритании, разыскивает
технологию по восстановлению твердой поверхности, которая усиливает
воздействие реагентов для керамических, стеклянных и полимерных
поверхностей в домашних условиях (за исключением древесины). Эти агенты
должны восстанавливать поверхность, при этом используя комбинацию
очистки с одновременным эффектом полирования, создания блеска,
восстановления цвета, или любого другого усиливающего воздействия на
твердую поверхность. Description: Many surfaces become dull and marked through everyday “wear and tear” as well as a result of continued abrasion (mechanical and chemical) with sequential cleaning. Such surfaces appear dirty or dulled, and may thus look much older than they actually are. There is thus a need to restore these surfaces to an "as new" appearance. Additionally, there may also be long-term build-up of deposits on surfaces from water or cleaning procedures that can change surface appearance. These effects are most noticeable on surfaces such as glass, ceramics and metals, and also on polymer/plastic surfaces, which have a high gloss built in. There are two approaches to this problem or to prevent loss of initial gloss finishes: (i) Shine/gloss/colour restorative agents that reinforce or enhance the levels to, or even over and above the original finish.
(ii) Preventive treatments that stop the
damage occurring from new. Technical Specifications / Specific technical requirements: These surface-enhancing agents must be able to be added into and/or delivered from aqueous cleaning formulations across a range of pHs. They must not require high energy, temperature or harsh chemistry. Points for consideration: • Technologies should be safe, able to be used in controlled or domestic environment (e.g. within a food preparation area). • Technologies should be capable of being included in different product formats, for example liquid, tablets and gels. • Any agents must not include phosphorus or fluorine. • Any surface coating should not be visible (other than shine). • Must not damage other surfaces. • Must not build up on repeated application. • Must not feel tacky or sticky to touch.
• Must not add surface lubrication to tiles/baths/showers
to ensure no increase in slip.

активных или несовместимых агентов в жидкой среде при упаковке в один
сосуд. Идеально бы подошло решение с одним баллоном с однокамерным
резервуаром с наполнителем, который был бы сохранен обособленно и
оставался стабильным до момента его использования. Description: An example could be oxygenated bleaches and alkali solutions: each active deals with a different application/solution. Such products are currently only available in twin-chamber/twin-pack products. The combination of two or more components provides for more effective products that perform better than single compound products.
The alkaline formulation and the peroxide
are stable when combined for long enough to allow both components to
function as required when combined at the point of use, but they are not
stable enough to be packaged together in a single formulation. At
present these types of products are packaged in a dual-chamber bottle
that holds the alkali formulation and the peroxide separate. Significant
cost savings and convenience would be possible if the alkali and the
peroxide could be incorporated into a single formulation such that they
could be packaged in a single-chamber bottle. Technical Specifications / Specific technical requirements: Many colloidal systems (emulsions, vesicles, etc.) are currently unsuitable for this function as they provide insufficient levels of protection for incompatible ingredients, are unstable, are in dynamic equilibrium and exchange their core contents, or are too expensive, or leak and allow actives to diffuse out. The system should ideally be able to segregate/protect hydrophilic actives in an aqueous matrix and, as a second priority, hydrophobic actives in an aqueous environment. The ingredients or system identified must be capable of sitting in the pack for long periods of time (up to 2 years) without reacting or leaking into each other.
The systems must also be capable of allowing
the 2 segregated ingredients to mix on exit from the pack. The product
may be sprayed or wiped onto a surface or may be diluted in water, so
systems need to be capable of combining and releasing the actives in
either or both of these consumer-use situations. The triggers that are
available for this mixing may be mechanical (e.g. shear from wiping or
rubbing a surface, or from the nozzle of the pack, etc.), physical (e.g.
heat) or chemical (e.g. osmotic shock, pH change, salinity change, etc.).

Description: Many domestic cooking and eating utensils (ceramic, glass, plastics, metal) become damaged over time through repeated scuffing and abrasion during use, storage, or after repeated cleaning i.e. their initial "as new" built-in high-gloss, shiny factory finish appearance. Shine is also relevant to the surfaces in the dishwasher. This chemical and mechanical damage leads to a dulling of the original surfaces, causing surfaces to appear older. Additionally there may also be building-up of lime scale or other deposits from water or cleaning procedures, which can negatively change the appearance of highly reflective or glossy surfaces. Such effects are most noticeable on surfaces such as glass, ceramics and metals and also on polymer/plastic surfaces that have a high gloss built in. There are two approaches to this problem or to prevent loss of initial gloss finishes: (i) Shine/gloss agents that reinforce or enhance the levels over and above the original shine - or mask the appearance of mechanical imperfections that dull the original shine.
(ii) Preventive treatments that stop the
damage occurring from new. Technical Specifications / Specific technical requirements: These shine agents must be able to be added into and/or delivered from current dishwasher machine detergent formulations (powder, tablet or gel formats) or via the rinse aid formulation/dispenser. Points for consideration: • Technologies should be food-safe, able to be used in the dishwasher cycle, ideally FDA-approved. • Technologies should be capable of being included in different product formats, for example liquid, tablets and gels. • Any agents must not include phosphorus or fluorine. • Able to be applied through the dishwasher cycle, i.e. from bulk aqueous solution. • Any surface coating should not be visible (other than shine). • Must not damage other surfaces e.g. non-sticking.

Регулирование pH после нанесения средства на поверхность

Аннотация: Крупная сеть по
обеспечению услуг по ведению домашнего хозяйства, здоровья и социального
обеспечения с офисами в Великобритании разыскивает метод регулирования
pH после нанесения средства на поверхность. Это решение должно позволить
проконтролировать двойную функциональность продукта, его кислотные и
щелочные характеристики. Данное регулирование позволит снизить любые
влияющие на поверхность от воздействия средства эффекты, вызванные
наличием у него высокого или низкого pH. Description: An example could be alkaline systems where a high pH is needed. There is a subsequent need to adjust the pH of this system after 3 to 5 minutes adjusting to pH <9 from 12. This avoids excessive reaction during application and ensures an exact time of application. This pH adjustment need to take into account 3 key factors: 1. Robustness during storage to the chemistry (highly reducing conditions and alkaline). 2. Triggering and release on application of the chemistry. 3. The pH must not be adjusted immediately but ideally in about a 3- or 5-minute time frame from application.
Additionally there is a need in alkaline or
acidic systems to be able to adjust the pH after a few minutes towards
neutral to minimise long-term detrimental effects on pH-sensitive
surfaces such as some metals, marble, fabrics, etc. Furthermore, it will
be valuable to be able to change the pH quite dramatically from acid to
alkali and vice versa after a set time (seconds to minutes) - this has
the potential to give a multi-purpose product for both acid- and
alkali-responsive stain sets. Technical Specifications / Specific technical requirements: It is important to recognise that a twin-pack or two-chamber system is not an acceptable system. The pH change must be induced by the release of an adjusting agent from within the same formulation as the main product, or by the degradation of a precursor within the formulation once it has been released from the packaging. Many colloidal segregating systems (emulsions, vesicles, etc.) are currently unsuitable for this function as they are unstable, are in dynamic equilibrium and exchange their core contents, or are too expensive, or leak and allow actives to diffuse out. The lag phase after formula has been applied to the relevant surface before adjustment of the pH is completed is critical - this allows any formulation to work for a set time before changing the pH. The ingredients or system identified must be capable of sitting in the pack for long periods of time (up to 2 years) without reacting or leaking into each other. The product may be sprayed or wiped onto a surface or may be diluted in water, so systems need to be capable of combining and releasing the actives in either or both of these environments/situations.
The format of the final product is an issue
here as powders and tablets already act as segregation systems as the
active is not solvated or available for reaction until use. Liquid-based
systems are the key need here.
